Launching our Buy One, Give One initiative

Inspired by other local businesses making an effort to help others during this difficult time, we are very happy to be launching our ‘Buy One, Give One’ non-profit initiative to support the work of Oxford Mutual Aid. Our customers can buy their favourite items off our weekly menu and make a donation towards the cost of a meal for someone else at risk.  Anyone can donate to the scheme, even if you’re not ordering food for yourself.

Oxford Mutual Aid is a grassroots community group and action network. We have an experienced team of volunteers and have played a major supportive role in Oxford from the start of the COVID-19 epidemic, and we work to support at-risk individuals, communities, NHS workers, Key Workers and shelters across the city. Currently, OMA provides vital support to around 260 households per week. OMA concentrates on those who have fallen through the cracks or who struggle to access help through other channels. The pandemic has made a lot of pre-existing problems much worse and has created a whole new range of challenges. Although restrictions may have lifted for some, there are many individuals and families who remain at risk. These are frightening times, but we know that we can get through them if we come together.

If you would like to sign up for free meals for you and your household, please call 07310 160 595 or email kitchencollective@oxfordmutualaid.org Meals will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Please consider giving a bit extra to feed people who have been hit hard by COVID-19. Buy one for yourself, give one to them. Place an order of red lentils or yellow split peas and rice for home delivery, selecting the BUY ONE GIVE ONE option in the online shop.
